Welcome!  My name is Kathy.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 48 years.  We have 3 wonderful children (one daughter in heaven, another daughter and one son) and eight  fantastic grandchildren.  We live on a few acres in rural Deer Park, Washington with our two dogs, Oliver (Chihuahua) and Colter (Golden Retriever).  We have a very full & blessed life.   I love so many things - working in the quietness of my cottage garden, cooking, reading my Bible, painting, home decorating, creating fun events for family & friends, especially making memories for my grandchildren.  My desire is to leave a legacy of memories for my grandchildren whether it be the gift of laughter, unconditional love, their family roots, delicious family meals, game night and holiday events.

One of my passions is creating happy memories for my family and friends through parties & events.  As an office manager at my church for 20 years, a lot of the time I was called on to plan, organize and put before our church family large events to enhance the ministries.  I absolutely loved the planning & organizing part. I especially loved working with the many people on teams to help carry out the event.  It was one of my great joys those 20 years.  Now, I still get to do the events but just in a smaller fashion.  (I'll talk later about the family events I did and how you can do them as well.)

There is something magical about creating an event that brings joy and happiness to those in my life.  I remember, as a little girl, standing at my grandmother's huge living room window waiting in anticipation for my cousins to arrive.  The snow was falling, the Christmas tree lights were twinkling and the smells of Christmas dinner and baked cookies permeated the farmhouse.  Everything seemed magical.  I remember it that way but now realize it was not because of all of the surrounding decor but because of the fun and laughter we shared as a family.  My grandmother celebrated every holiday and more.  They lived on a farm and there was no end to "made up" fun but when she planned one of her family events - now that was something different!  I also saw this shown by my mother.  We called my mother the "hostess with mostest."  She was always entertaining missionaries, friends, and even family vacationers.  So I guess you could say that this passion has been lovingly passed down from generation to generation!  Even those events were special, our everyday family dinners were just as special and warm . . . something to always look forward to.  I am making these memories for my family in hopes that maybe they might take away even a little part of celebrating as a family.
