HARVEST PARTY

This is a Harvest Party I created for my grandchildren (ages 10-17). I soon realized that planning an event for my older grandchildren was going to be totally different than when they were young. Where I use to plan games and activities outdoors now I was learning just to let the kids dictate their own activities. I learned they loved just hanging out with each other and talking. I learned they even enjoy sitting at the table and listening to the "old folks" talk and tell stories. I also learned that it was okay to leave them alone at the firepit . . . lol!!! So my focus was on the food and the kids would take it from there!
I used my Seven Points of Planning an Event and got started on the Harvest Party! No matter how large or small the event, I always use these points to keep me organized.
BEVERAGES

Cold fresh cider. I used Ryan's Honey Crisp Blend from the Columbia River in Hood River, Oregon. It was so delicious. For the fun factor, I served the cider in small milk bottles with paper straws.
The kids loved it!
For the hot beverages, I had hot cider and a decadent hot chocolate.
HOT FOOD

I chose comfort foods and foods I knew kids loved!
Mac & Cheese ~ Loaded Tater Tots ~ Mini Pigs in a Blanket ~ BBQ Cocktail Weinies ~ Nacho Bar
